Leicester Forest East Lilliput Montessori
This is a purpose-built nursery where we had the opportunity to work closely with the architect and developer. Using our years of experience caring for children, we were able to design an internal layout of rooms and services most appropriate to the needs of the children and the staff looking after them. The nursery was completed and opened in 2007.
The babies have two rooms with direct access to their own kitchen and bathroom. As babies become mobile and able to walk, they move on to the second room which has direct access through french doors to the outside play area. Each room has age-appropriate toys and equipment to help your child's development.
At around two years old, your child will move across to the Toddler rooms, which also have their own bathroom. One of the rooms can also be used as a sensory room, where we have a range of fluorescent toys and materials with which the children can experiment. The other room gives direct access through french doors to the outdoor play area. Both Toddler rooms offer a wide range of sensory activities to enable your child to play and explore different media in ways you may not want to do at home, as the mess can be quite extensive!
The pre-school 3 and 4 year olds are upstairs where they have three rooms to enjoy a wide variety of play and learning opportunities on a free flow basis, including access to an outside deck on the first floor level. This means that your child can have some element of choice of whether they want to be inside or out when they are playing and learning. These rooms are equipped with age-appropriate resources for learning and creative play, which help your child gain knowledge and develop their physical and social skills to prepare them for primary school.
